Baccarat Standards
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards valued less than 10 are counted at their printed value and on the other hand ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they strictly symbolize the two hands to be dealt).
Two hands of two cards will then be given out to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for each hand shall be the grand total of the 2 cards, but the initial digit is dumped. For example, a hand of seven as well as five produces a score of two (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘one’).
A 3rd card might be given out depending on the foll. regulations:
- If the player or banker has a score of 8 or nine, the two players stand.
- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the gambler hits, a chart is used to determine if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The larger of the 2 scores is the winner. Victorious bets on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even odds minus a five percent commission. Commission is kept track of and paid out when you leave the table so make sure to have funds left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winning bets for tie typically pay out 8 to 1 but occasionally nine to one. (This is an awful gamble as ties occur lower than 1 every 10 hands. Run away from wagering on a tie. Regardless odds are vastly better – 9 to one vs. eight to one)
When played effectively, baccarat provides generally decent odds, aside from the tie bet obviously.
Baccarat Strategy
As with every games, Baccarat has some well-known myths. One of which is very similar to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way a predictor of future happenings. Staying abreast of previous conclusions on a chart is simply a waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most common and probably most successful method is the 1-three-2-6 scheme. This tactic is used to accentuate payout and reducing risk.
Begin by gambling one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, remove four so you have two on the third wager. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the four on the table for a sum total of 6 on the fourth gamble.
If you lose on the initial bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the second will create a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. In other words you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
