Rules of Baccarat

Baccarat Protocols

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards of a value less than ten are worth face value and on the other hand ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they only appear as the 2 hands to be played).

Two hands of two cards shall then be given to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The score for each hand shall be the sum of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is removed. For e.g., a hand of 7 … 5 will have a value of two (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card can be given out depending on the following guidelines:

- If the bettor or banker has a total score of eight or nine, the two gamblers stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the gambler hits, a chart is used to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the 2 scores will be the winner. Victorious bets on the banker pay at nineteen to 20 (even money minus a five percent commission. Commission is followed closely and moved out when you leave the table so make sure you have funds remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie as a rule pay out eight to one but on occasion nine to 1. (This is not a good gamble as ties happen lower than one every 10 hands. Run away from betting on a tie. Regardless odds are remarkably better – nine to 1 versus eight to one)

Played properly, baccarat presents fairly decent odds, apart from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with many games, Baccarat has some well-known misconceptions. 1 of which is quite similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is surely not an indicator of future results. Keeping track of past outcomes on a chart is definitely a waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most commonly used and possibly most successful technique is the 1-3-two-six method. This schema is employed to build up earnings and reducing risk.

start by betting 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, remove four so you have two on the 3rd wager. If you win the 3rd gamble, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a total of 6 on the fourth bet.

If you don’t win on the first wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second creates a loss of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. This means you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
