Rules of Baccarat

Baccarat Policies

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are of a value less than ten are valued at their printed number whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they merely represent the 2 hands to be dealt).

2 hands of 2 cards shall then be played to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for any hand shall be the grand total of the 2 cards, but the first digit is dumped. For eg, a hand of 7 and 5 results in a value of 2 (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card may be given out depending on the foll. standards:

- If the bettor or banker has a score of eight or nine, then both gamblers stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the player hits, a chart might be used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the two scores is the winner. Winning bets on the banker pay nineteen to twenty (even odds minus a 5% commission. Commission is followed closely and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure that you have cash left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie as a rule pays eight to 1 but occasionally nine to 1. (This is a terrible wager as ties occur lower than 1 every ten hands. Definitely don’t try placing bets on a tie. However odds are greatly better – 9 to 1 vs. eight to 1)

Played smartly, baccarat presents generally decent odds, away from the tie bet obviously.

Baccarat Strategy

As with just about every games, Baccarat has some established misunderstandings. 1 of which is close to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an indicator of future results. Tracking of old results on a chart is a complete waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most popular and probably most successful strategy is the 1-3-2-six method. This plan is deployed to pump up payout and reducing risk.

commence by betting one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away four so you have 2 on the third wager. If you win the 3rd wager, add 2 to the four on the table for a value of six on the fourth bet.

If you lose on the first bet, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the second will create a loss of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. A win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. In other words you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
