Baccarat Chemin de Fer Rules

Baccarat chemin de fer is enjoyed with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards valued less than 10 are counted at face value and with Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and Ace is one. Wagers are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these aren’t really people; they just represent the two hands to be dealt).

Two cards are given to both the ‘house’ and ‘player’. The score for every hand is the sum of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is dumped. For instance, a hand of five and 6 has a total of 1 (five plus six = 11; ignore the first ‘1′).

A third card can be given depending on the rules below:

- If the player or bank achieves a value of eight or nine, both players stand.

- If the player has less than 5, he takes a card. Players otherwise stay.

- If the player stands, the bank hits on 5 or lower. If the player hits, a chart is used to determine if the banker stands or takes a card.

Baccarat Chemin de Fer Odds

The larger of the two scores wins. Winning wagers on the banker payout nineteen to Twenty (equal money less a five percent commission. The Rake is tracked and cleared out when you quit the game so ensure you still have money left before you head out). Winning bets on the player pays out at 1 to 1. Winning wagers for tie typically pays 8 to 1 but on occasion 9:1. (This is a bad bet as a tie occurs lower than 1 in every ten rounds. Avoid betting on a tie. However odds are substantially better for 9 to 1 vs. eight to one)

Bet on properly baccarat gives pretty good odds, aside from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Course of Action

As with all games Baccarat has some established myths. One of which is the same as a misconception in roulette. The past isn’t a prophecy of future outcomes. Keeping score of previous results at a table is a poor use of paper and an insult to the tree that was cut down for our paper needs.

The most accepted and probably the most successful method is the one-three-two-six tactic. This tactic is employed to pump up profits and limit risk.

Begin by wagering one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the game table for a total of three dollars on the second bet. If you succeed you will have 6 on the table, remove four so you have 2 on the third bet. If you win the third round, put down 2 to the 4 on the table for a grand total of six on the fourth bet.

If you don’t win on the initial round, you take a hit of 1. A win on the 1st round followed by a loss on the second causes a loss of 2. Success on the initial 2 with a hit on the third gives you with a gain of 2. And wins on the first three with a hit on the 4th means you balance the books. Winning all 4 bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. This means you are able to lose the 2nd bet five times for each favorable run of 4 rounds and still break even.
