Baccarat Procedures

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are valued less than ten are valued at face value and on the other hand ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they simply appear as the 2 hands to be dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards will now be given out to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for each hand shall be the sum total of the two cards, but the 1st digit is removed. For eg, a hand of seven … 5 results in a score of two (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A third card can be played depending on the foll. rules:

- If the bettor or banker has a tally of eight or nine, then both bettors stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart will be used in order to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the 2 scores wins. Winning bets on the banker pay out 19 to twenty (even odds less a five percent commission. Commission is tracked and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure that you have money remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to one. Winner bets for tie commonly pay eight to one and occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a terrible wager as ties happen less than one every 10 hands. Definitely don’t try betting on a tie. However odds are appreciably better – 9 to 1 vs. eight to one)

When played correctly, baccarat offers pretty good odds, away from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with all games, Baccarat has some common myths. 1 of which is quite similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future events. Monitoring of past results on a chart is definitely a complete waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most common and probably most successful strategy is the one-3-2-six scheme. This scheme is employed to accentuate successes and lowering risk.

start by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract 4 so you have 2 on the third gamble. If you win the 3rd gamble, add 2 to the four on the table for a total of six on the 4th gamble.

If you don’t win on the initial bet, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the second brings about a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. This means that you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
