Baccarat Banque Principles

Baccarat chemin de fer is played with eight decks of cards in a dealer’s shoe. Cards valued less than 10 are counted at their printed value and with Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and A is one. Wagers are made on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these are not actual people; they just represent the two hands to be dealt).

Two hands of two cards are then dealt to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for each hand is the total of the two cards, however the first digit is discarded. For instance, a hand of five and six has a score of one (five plus 6 = eleven; ditch the initial ‘one’).

A third card can be given out using the rules below:

- If the player or bank achieves a total of eight or nine, the two players stay.

- If the player has less than five, he hits. Players otherwise stand.

- If the gambler stays, the banker hits on five or less. If the player takes a card, a chart is used to figure out if the house holds or hits.

Baccarat Banque Odds

The higher of the two totals wins. Winning wagers on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even payout minus a five percent rake. The Rake is kept track of and cleared out once you quit the game so ensure you have funds left over just before you quit). Winning wagers on the player pays out at one to one. Winning bets for a tie frequently pays 8 to 1 but on occasion 9:1. (This is a poor wager as ties occur less than 1 in every ten hands. Be wary of betting on a tie. However odds are substantially better for 9:1 versus 8 to 1)

Played correctly baccarat chemin de fer provides relatively decent odds, aside from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Banque Strategy

As with all games Baccarat has some accepted misunderstandings. One of which is the same as a myth in roulette. The past isn’t an indicator of events yet to happen. Keeping score of previous outcomes at a table is a bad use of paper and an affront to the tree that was cut down for our paper needs.

The most accepted and probably the most acknowledged plan is the 1-3-2-6 method. This plan is used to maximize earnings and minimizing risk.

Start by wagering one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a sum total of three units on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the game table, remove 4 so you are left with two on the 3rd bet. Should you win the third bet, deposit 2 on the 4 on the table for a sum total of 6 on the fourth bet.

Should you lose on the first round, you take a loss of 1. A profit on the first bet followed by a loss on the 2nd brings about a hit of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third gives you with a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth means you are even. Winning at all four wagers gives you with 12, a profit of 10. This means you are able to squander the 2nd round 5 times for each successful streak of 4 wagers and still are even.
